Keep your hope and die.
The instructions are live then die.
Die but don’t lose life.
Lose life, but don’t die.
Hold your cross, hold my beer, and hold my hand all at once.
Somewhat concave I reflex, on the strain of my breathing mind.
Where do I go from here, asked now that I see I’m blind.
Every bone, every fiber, every surface aches..
Sometimes I practice not breathing.
Sometimes I gasp for more.
I press on in darkness, and light,
Wishing my burden was solvable,
Wishing I could add up my parts.
Wishing I could be whole.
